Terms of Use

Agreement

These terms are between you and Dasun Tharanga (“we”, “us”), the developer of Tipword. By buying, downloading or using Tipword, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Tipword.

Your license

When you buy Tipword, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on up to 3 Macs that you own or control. The license is for one person. You can move it between Macs by deactivating one in the customer portal.

Tipword remains ours. You get a license to use it, not ownership of the software.

Price and payment

Tipword costs a one-time payment of the price shown at checkout. There’s no subscription. Purchases are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, which may add sales tax or VAT depending on where you live. Polar’s terms of service also apply to your purchase.

Updates

Your license includes all new versions released within one year of your purchase date. After that year, the last version you received keeps working, for as long as it works with your Mac. Versions released later may require a new purchase.

We can’t promise Tipword will keep working with future versions of macOS, but we’ll try.

Other services

Some translation features rely on services we don’t control. Apple provides on-device translation on macOS 15 or later. For other languages you can use your own Google Cloud Translation key. Your use of Google Cloud is under your own agreement with Google, and you are responsible for any charges Google makes. We aren’t responsible for these services being available or accurate.

Fair use

Please don’t:

• Share your license key or let people outside your license use it.
• Resell, rent or redistribute Tipword.
• Reverse engineer Tipword or get around its licensing, except where the law allows it.
• Use Tipword to break the law or other people’s rights.

Translations

Tipword shows machine translations. They can be wrong or miss context. Don’t rely on them for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.

No warranty

Tipword is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Tipword.

Ending the license

Your license lasts until it ends. It ends if you get a refund or a chargeback, or if you seriously break these terms. When it ends, we may deactivate your license key, and you must stop using Tipword.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in the country where you live.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes don’t take away rights you already have for a version you’ve bought. We’ll update the date at the top when we change them.
